14 Days Great Tanzania Safari and Cultural Tour Experience

Day 1: Arrive Arusha
Arrive anytime at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), Tanzania. You will meet us at the airport and pick up with private transfer to Zawadi House Lodge. We will gather in the evening for a pre-safari briefing. We will also confirm you have the appropriate mandatory medical coverage and travel insurance.

Day 2: Arusha – Mkomazi
After breakfast, Morning depart from Arusha town to Mkomazi national park with packed lunch. Mkomazi is the southern tip of the Sahel zone. It is a classic dry-country reserve of grey-green nyika bush, ancient baobab trees and isolated rocky hills. Elsewhere, the seas of bush give way to open Savannah woodlands of umbrella acacias and mbugas – shallow valleys of grassland. Arrive late afternoon, dinner and overnight at Muller’s Lodge

 Day 3: Mkomazi
Full day game viewing in Mkomazi national park with packed lunch. Mkomazi is vital refuge for two highly endangered species, the charismatic black rhino and sociable African wild dog.

The animals, too, are typical of the arid nyika. Giraffe, oryx, gerenuk, hartebeest, lesser kudu, eland, impala and Grant’s gazelle share the reserve with elephant, buffalo, and numerous predators, including lion, leopard and cheetah. In all, 78 species of mammals have been recorded.

The birds of Mkomazi are even more numerous, with over 400 recorded species. Doves, horn-bills, weavers and guinea-fowl are all present in large numbers – as well as such striking species as the martial eagle and violet wood-hoop. Dinner and overnight at Muller’s Lodge

Day 4: Mkomazi to Moshi Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort

After breakfast drive to Moshi at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort arrive on time for lunch, half day tour in the Marangu village dinner and overnight at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort.

Day 5: Arusha to Arusha national park

After breakfast we will drive from your lodge to Arusha National Park for fully day   game driving, you will see many attraction like Black and White Colobus Monkey, Arusha is a breathtaking park that includes the alkaline Momella Lakes, the Ngurdoto Crater and spectacular waterfalls. It has as its dramatic backdrop the 4566 meters high Mt. Meru. Later evening drive to Zawadi House Lodge for dinner and overnight  

Day6: Full day in Tarangire National Park
Morning breakfast at Zawadi House Lodge in Arusha, safari briefing and afterwards we depart for Tarangire National Park. Your first experience of safari will be the thrilling game drive through the vastness of Tarangire National Park, arrive in good time for lunch. Afternoon game driving through the park followed by dinner and overnight at Tarangire Tented Lodge on full board basis

 Day 7: Lake Manyara National Park

Breakfast then we depart from your lodge proceed to Lake Manyara National Park. Although small in size, this park is one of the most diverse reserves in the country. Lake Manyara covers two thirds of the park. At the backdrop is the wall of the Great Rift Valley, before which lies the ground water forest, areas of open grassland near the lake foreshore, and the Soda Lake. We enjoy a picnic lunch in this area, which consists of open grassy areas, hot springs, dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Lake Manyara National Park is a birding paradise that has more than 350 species of bird. The park is also famed for its unique and elusive tree- We will make full day game drive in the Lake Manyara National Park and in the evening we will drive to Manyara Wildlife Lodge for dinner overnight

Day 8: Lake Manyara – Ndutu Area

After breakfast depart for Ndutu area, arriving for Lunch at Ndutu Safari Lodge, followed by game drive after lunch, dinner and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge 

Day 9: Full Day Ndutu

Full day game drive in Ndutu area with picnic lunch boxes, the short rains begin around early November. A little after this, in late November and December, the herds of the wildebeest migration arrive on the short-grass plains of the Serengeti. These are south and east of Seronera, around Ndutu and include the north of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dispersed across these plains, wildebeest and zebra are everywhere – feeding on the fresh, nutritious grasses. The herds are stationary, increasing your chances of witnessing wildebeest births and predator interaction. Dinner and overnight at Ndutu Safari Lodge

Day 10: Ndutu – Central Serengeti

Breakfast afterwards, we visit the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world – Serengeti National Park.

The word ‘Serengeti’ means ‘endless plains’, which describes the park’s 5,600 square mile boundary. Yet for its sprawling area, the Serengeti does not disappoint when it comes to rich game-viewing. Annually, from May to December, millions of animals embark on a migration which brings them from central Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara and back again in an incredible spectacle.

Even during the ‘down-time’, vast herds of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle roam here, along with groups of elephant, giraffe, and buffalo. As the lions, leopard, cheetah, hyenas and jackals stalk their meals, we enjoy a picnic lunch in this open arena. We drive to Seronera Wildlife Lodge for dinner and overnight.

 Day 11Serengeti National Park

The lush plains of the Serengeti have made it an ideal home to Great Tanzania Safari for millions of years. This ancient ecosystem continues to thrive and wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, and giraffes are often seen grazing in herds. This is one of the best places in the world to spot lions dozing in a shade. Also, leaping after a marked prey or gnawing off a share of their hunt. Dinner and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge

Day 12: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast leave the lodge early morning and then we proceed to Olduvai Gorge, known as the ‘Cradle of Mankind’. It was here, in the Great Rift Valley, that the remains of early hominids dating back 2 million years were uncovered. Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Crater Tented Lodge.

Day 13: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today we visit the largest intact volcanic crater in the world, the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. At more than 2,000 feet deep and 12 miles in diameter, the Ngorongoro Crater has one of the largest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. 30,000 animals make their home in this crater, making it an ideal place for sightings of the ‘big 5’ – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. We enjoy a picnic lunch in this truly world-class attraction, also known as the ‘8th Wonder of the World’. Our dinner and overnight stay is at the rustic Ngorongoro Crater Tented Lodge.

 Day 14: Ngorongoro to Arusha
Morning breakfast at your lodge, afterwards drive back to Arusha, arrive on time for lunch and cultural heritage tour around Arusha, after lunch time transfer back to Kilimanjaro international Airport (JRO) for the evening flight. Great Tanzania Safari
