Day by Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by our professional safari team and transferred via private vehicle to Zawadi House Lodge in Arusha.
Later in the evening, you will attend a detailed pre-safari briefing, during which we will review your itinerary, confirm travel insurance and mandatory medical coverage, and address any final questions.

Overnight: Zawadi House Lodge

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Mkomazi National Park with a packed lunch. This remote and unspoiled reserve lies at the southern edge of the Sahel zone and is characterized by vast semi-arid landscapes, ancient baobab trees, rocky hills, and open savannah woodlands dotted with umbrella acacias.

Arrive in the late afternoon for a short introductory game drive before proceeding to your lodge.

Dinner & Overnight: Muller’s Lodge

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in Mkomazi National Park, with a picnic lunch served in the bush. The park is a vital refuge for two highly endangered species—the black rhinoceros and the African wild dog.

Wildlife commonly seen includes giraffe, oryx, gerenuk, lesser kudu, eland, hartebeest, impala, Grant’s gazelle, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and cheetah. Mkomazi is also a birding haven, with over 400 recorded bird species, including martial eagles and violet wood-hoopoes.

Dinner & Overnight: Muller’s Lodge

After breakfast, drive to Moshi at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, arriving at Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy a guided cultural tour of Marangu Village, gaining insight into Chagga traditions and daily life.

Dinner & Overnight: Kilimanjaro Mountain Resort

After breakfast, depart for a full-day safari in Arusha National Park, one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks. Highlights include the Momella Lakes, Ngurdoto Crater, waterfalls, and dense montane forests, all set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Meru (4,566m).

Expect sightings of giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and black-and-white colobus monkeys.
In the evening, return to Arusha.

After breakfast and safari briefing, depart for Tarangire National Park. Known for its vast elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal river, Tarangire offers excellent wildlife viewing.

Enjoy a game drive upon arrival and continue exploring the park throughout the afternoon.

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Manyara National Park, a compact yet remarkably diverse reserve. The park features groundwater forests, open grasslands, hot springs, and the alkaline Lake Manyara beneath the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Enjoy a full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Lake Manyara is renowned for its rich birdlife (over 350 species) and its famous tree-climbing lions.

After breakfast, depart for the Ndutu Area, located in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive across the open plains.

  • Midrange: Sero Tented camp / Nyikani camp

Spend the day exploring the Ndutu Plains, with picnic lunch served during the game drive. From late November through March, this area hosts large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra during the Great Migration calving season.

This period offers exceptional opportunities to witness predator interactions and newborn calves.

Continue to your lodge in the Ngorongoro highlands.
